Ibanez S Series
With the S series, Ibanez set about to prove that Mahogany guitars don't have to be heavy and bulky. They all use a double-locking ZR tremolos and high-gain IBZ INF pickup combos to produce a fantastic range of guitars.
This guitar is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary after it initially proved that mahogany guitars didn't have to be bulky, heavy and uncomfortable.
The S520Ex guitars are brilliant for extreme metal players due to their flat necks and thin bodies along with their mahogany tone. However they are very versatile guitars and can be used for many genres.
A little bit more expensive than some in the S range, but it has been said that it is worth the extra. It has a ZR tremolo which is one of the best tremolos since the first locking one. The ZR uses a ball bearing system rather than a knife edge system which results in accurate and friction free action.
This model creates some brilliant, powerful tones from its DiMarzio pickups. It has a 5 piece maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and 22 Jumbo Frets. With its amazing ZR tremolo bridge, which uses ball bearings, maximum string stability can be achieved.
